Special Combos
Tiffin is the South Indian meal with no equivalent elsewhere: not breakfast, not lunch, eaten at any hour. These are the plates that come with their proper sides rather than à la carte.
The classics sit at the top — pongal with vada, idly with vada, poori and chappathi with their bajji or channa masala. Below them are the idly combos, which take plain or seasoned idlies and pair them with something substantial: ghee podi, chilli, kurma, chicken curry, mutton curry, fish curry. The double curry feast brings both the chicken and the mutton.
Everything here arrives with three chutneys, which is the part people from outside South India tend not to expect.
